UH Meeting  – 21.2.11 

1. Present: President, UH Captains,  BL,  RVC,  GKT,  ICSM , St Georges,  RUMS.

2. Previous minutes approved.

3. Account Update – Hon Treasurer

  • Discussion about current liabilities - none significant.
  • Head race should be self-funding.
  • Position regarding the Dinner - too early to predict; Bumps -awaited.

4. Dinner arrangements

  • Starting at 19:30
  • Menu choices by Tuesday.
  • Presentation of prizes/results from head will be facilitated by PA system this year.

5. UH Head Race

  • Low water will be at 16:28 Kew and 14:58 at Richmond; two divisions at 12:00 and 14:00. 
  • Both divisions will be full length (to MAABC).
  • Radios and extra megaphones via TRRC. 
  • Safety launch - Ro-Safe (booked); will launch from Ship.
  • Requirement for 8 other launches; additional on loan from UL; all clubs to provide one (and RUMS two); with further reserve to be identified. Self-drive at L2 and ?L6.
  • JM L1, Jakob L3, PD L5, SC control, JT BM2 (relay). 
  • Need for relay of radio messages via BM2.
  • Safety to be positioned by PLA moorings/raft.
  • Three stopwatches currently available, one more required. Emphasis on accuracy of recordings.
  • Entries discussed. In general women's crews in division 1 (20 entered); mens' crews division 2 (24 entered). Some seeding to remove novice crews from high starting positions.
  • Penalties for lateness -to be defined by boating time rather than arrival time in first instance (but if boat late and arrive in time = no penalty). 

6. Bumps

  • Discussion about exam timing on Friday 27.5.11 - RUMS uncertain and potentially also GKT.
  • Decided that should default to two day programme (BH Monday discounted on basis of time, river traffic, day of week etc); with three races each day; unless all can confirm happy with 3 day event before 1.4.11
  • Likely timetable: Sat HW 11:32; races 15:30, 17:30, 19:30
  • Sunday HW 12:27; races 16:00; 18:00; 20:00
  • Noted late impact on party; possible reduction in entry fee.

  1. UH Crews - captains to deal with this after HOR week.
