UNITED HOSPITALS BC WINTER REGATTA 22nd January 2012 TIMETABLE (version 2) Please note that the weather is likely to be average for January (cold and nasty). Wear multiple layers, keep heads covered, wear proper wellies and co-ordinate boating with your opposition to reduce time spent on the water. There are likely to be more external crews out this Sunday than were seen at the Novice regatta or the Allom Cup. Please be vigilant at all times. Please note that races 1 - 6 inclusive will be raced at the time stated without reference to absentees (shown by the yellow box in the timeable). The timetable has been adjusted to try to get 17 races on the flood stream; but predicting the actual stream conditions is difficult around low water and there may need to be adjustment of the times on the day. Please liaise with the control at ULBH. Captains must ensure that they only enter competent crews and that their crews are properly prepared for the race. Captains must ensure that their crews must follow the standards for safety set out on the British Rowing Guide to Good Practice in Rowing, and particularly the requirement at section 2.1 to wear personal floatation devices where competitors cannot demonstrate the ability to meet the swimming standard or there is a medical problem which presents a risk that the competitor may become unconscious or immobile.
